Susan A. Tietjen, 54, passed peacefully on September 8, 2009, at the Kindred Hospital, Dover, NJ.
Born: On June 7, 1955, in Union City, NJ, she was a daughter of the late James and Dolores Hansen.
Personal: She lived in Oxford, NJ, previously she lived in Independence Township and Ridgefield Park, NJ. Susan was co-owner of Cruise Planner in Oxford. Earlier in her life she was an administrative assistant for Johnson & Johnson in Morris Plains. Susan graduated from Ridgefield Park High School class 1974. Susan enjoyed reading, sewing and was considered a wine connoisseur .
Memberships: Susan was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Oxford.
Survivors: Her loving husband of 16 years Michael; sister, Patricia Haas of Washington Township Bergen County; son, Matthew of Texas; many nieces and nephews; sister In-law, Mary-Jo Cree of Alabama.
A sister Karen Ingenito passed earlier.
Services: Visitation will be on Sunday September 13, 2009, 2 to 4 p.m. & 7 to 9 p.m. at Warren Hills Memorial Home 234 West Washington Ave, Washington, NJ 07882. Funeral Services will be Monday September 14, 2009 , a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with Fr. Richard Rusk Officiating, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 85 Academy St Oxford, NJ 07863. Cremation will be private.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 85 Academy St Oxford, NJ 07863. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234. W. Washington, Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Although I only knew Susan for a brief period of time while I was a member of the Good Times BNI group, I will always remember her great sense of humor. Mike, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Mary Melofchik

MY DEEPEST CONDOLENCES TO THE ENTIRE FAMILY.I ONLY KNEW SUSAN BY DOING ALL HER CAT SCANS AT WARREN HOSPITAL. SHE WAS THE NICEST WOMAN.SHE ALWAYS HAD A SMILE ,ALWAYS GAVE ME A HUG AND WAS SO OPTIMISTC HER LOSS IS FELT BY US ALL. WHEN I RETIRED LAST YEAR SHE WROT ME A NOTE AND TOLD ME TO MAKE THE BEST OF EVERTHING. ALSO TO STOP AND SMELL THE ROSES.I WILL NEVER FORGET THIS WONDERFUL PERSON. I feel so blessed to have known Susan for the past 10 years or so. She was a patient at first, but as time went on, I got to know her as a friend. She was one of those patients who truly touched my life and one I will always remember. Her smile, her positive attitude, her kind words, her concern for others even when things were not going well with her own health....these are things that made Susan a special patient and things that will be missed.
