Charles Alva Clark, 81, passed away on April 20, 2026. He was the son of the late George and Elsie Clark, brother to George and Judy Clark, husband to the late Peg, father to Kathy and a friend, to many. To others in our clan, he was just Uncle or “Unka Charles”.
He was the man about town in his younger days, a loving husband and father in his later. Always quick with a smile, a handshake, or a hug if that’s what you needed. Charles had many facets. His love of photography, music, and computers were just part of a lifelong passion for all things rooted in science. There were a few neat tricks he learned in the army too. But Charles’ real passion was people, especially family.
He was always lending a hand fixing something for someone. Building contraptions and home improvement projects. He loved camping and the outdoors and back when it was a hefty acquisition became a 1/3 shareholder of an aluminum canoe so the entire extended family could take turns having adventures. If there was an outing, a camping trip, picnic, museum day, whatever it was, he was there leading the kids on another grand adventure. All the while turning words into fun with his endless puns. Charles was a quick wit and if you weren’t careful, he could rope you into a pun that bound you, stringing you along, until you were fit to be tied and all the while the devil glinting in his eye. Charles was loved and cared for in his last years by the family he so loved.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife Peg Hammond Clark, his parents George and Elsie, his siblings Judy, George and Sister-in-law Helga.
He is survived by his daughter Kathy. His Brother-in-law and lifelong friend Clinton. His Nieces and Nephews, Sharon, Colin, Clinton, Nicki, Mary, Helmi, Ian, Astrid, Roger, Colleen, Joe, Megan, Crystal, Bryan, Judith, Sharon, Victoria, Elizabeth, Dylan, Victorine, Zach, Clinton, Alyssa, Clark, Taylor, Kathleen, Arthur, Alexandria, Josh, Daniel, Aaron, Melissa, Nathan, Joshua, Grayson, Victorine, Skylor.
All of whom he shared his joy for life.
