Mary Lynn Treitler, 79, of Belvidere, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on April 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on November 30, 1946, in Grove City, PA, Lynn was the daughter of the late David Winfield Anderson and Anna Mary (Rossman) Anderson, and was delivered by her grandfather, Walter F. Rossman. Her brother, James Rossman Anderson, was born on December 31, 1953.
Her family moved to Flushing Meadows, Long Island, and later settled in Ridgewood, where they were surrounded by a wonderful community. Summers were spent making cherished memories on Bustin’s Island, Maine, and Chautauqua Lake, NY. As her younger brother, Jimmy, fondly shared, Lynn was a spirited and adventurous teenager. Her cousin, Barbara Gasparini, lived with the family during the last few years of high school, forming a close and lasting bond.
She graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1964 and attended Lincoln College in Lincoln, Illinois. She later continued her education at East Orange General Hospital School of Nursing, where she earned her nursing degree as part of the Class of 1969. Lynn began her nursing career in the East Orange ER, then worked in Pediatrics in Hackettstown, NJ. She later worked with ophthalmologist Dr. Harold Lappin for nearly 25 years, caring for others in the thoughtful and dedicated way that came so naturally to her.
She married Tom Baldwin in 1970 and began raising their family while living in Asbury, NJ, welcoming Justin in 1971 and Melanie in 1974. She later resided in White Township, NJ, for over 20 years, where she created many treasured memories with family and friends, including beloved Fourth of July parties.
In 1997, she met the love of her life, Bob Treitler. She retired shortly thereafter, and together they enjoyed traveling, especially to Prague, Lake Powell, UT, and Sunset Beach, NC. She loved her home on Green Pond Road, a place filled with warmth, love, and many happy memories.
Lynn found joy in all the beauty life had to offer. She especially loved knitting, reading, traveling, hosting, caring for others, and attending church, but her greatest joy was always her family and friends. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her immense happiness. She was their biggest cheerleader and was so very proud of each of them.
She is survived by her son, Justin Baldwin (Silvia); her daughter, Melanie Baldwin; her stepchildren, Linda Treitler and Wendy Treitler; her brother, James Anderson (Mercer); her nephews, David Brockenbrough (Loretta) and Ross Anderson; her nieces, Jamie Aliperti (Jeff) and Austin Anderson (Andrew); as well as her six grandchildren, Geoffrey, Mark, Kylee, Luke, Kelsey (Matt), and Brianna (Josh); and her five great-grandchildren, Jacob, Eli, Jemma, Roman, and Ryder.
In addition to her parents, Lynn was predeceased by her husband, Robert, Sr., and her stepson, Robert, Jr.
