Betty Ann Wright, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, formerly a lifelong resident of Washington, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026. She was 96 years old.
Born on June 28, 1929, in Washington, New Jersey, Betty was the daughter of the late Harry L. Roseberry and Anna Roseberry (née Apgar). A proud graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1947, she went on to build a successful career as a self-employed real estate and insurance broker, working diligently until her retirement in 1980.
Betty was an active member of her community throughout her life. She belonged to the Eastern Star in Mansfield, New Jersey, the Daughters of the American Revolution in Belvidere, and the Port Murray Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She was known for her strong work ethic, independence, and dedication to her family and community.
She is survived by her loving son, Thomas Wright III and his wife Susan; her cherished grandchildren, Meghann Wright, Katherine Wright, and Tara Ann Wheeler and her husband Kenneth Cale Wheeler; She also leaves behind her great granddaughter, Tinsley Ann Wheeler, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas Wright Jr., who passed away in 1992; her daughter, Teresa Latteman; her sister, Mary Roseberry Fetig and her husband, Jack; and her brother, William Apgar Roseberry.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, April 27, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Avenue, Washington, New Jersey 07882. A service celebrating Betty’s life will be held at the funeral home at 12:00 p.m., with burial to follow at Washington Cemetery.
