Betty D. Kerkendall, 80, of Kunkletown , PA , and formerly of Blairstown and Washington , NJ , died peacefully, Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital , Lehighton , PA.
Born: March 26, 19 29 , in Washington , NJ , she was a daughter of the late William and Alice Baldwin.
Personal: Betty was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith.
Survivors: In addition to her loving husband of 49 years William; a daughter Betty Rounsaville and her husband Almon of DeRuyter, NY; four sons, William Butler of Bloomsbury, NJ, Raymond Kerkendall and his wife Tina of Colden, NY, Robert Kerkendall of Elizabeth City, NC, John Kerkendall and his wife Tracy of Columbia, NJ; a brother Frank Baldwin of Washington, NJ; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two brothers Lew and Robert Baldwin.
Services: Visitation will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2009 at Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Avenue , Washington , NJ . The funeral service will follow the visitation at 1 p.m. with Rev. William Noll officiating. Burial will be in Musconetcong Valley Cemetery , Hampton . Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------We first met Betty when Line Dancing came to Blairstown. What fun she was there! Then when Bill had the accident we would check on both of them often and offer help. We will remember her for always calling both of us JayJerry – she (like others) was not able to remember whether the female was Jay or the male was Jay – with JayJerry she covered all of the bases. JayJerry was later to become our e-mail address. She would often come to Blairstown after they moved to PA and come to Blue Ridge Lumber asking for “JayJerry” which always made us smile. Betty was a delightful lady and a strong person. Know that both my husband, Jerry & I, Jay have a deep respect and fondness for her. May God Bless You and give you strength at this time and always.
