David Jonathan Joost of Asbury, NJ, passed away peacefully in the home of his daughter, Danielle, on November 10, 2011 after a short battle with cancer.
Born: He was born October 7, 1946 in Leominster, MA, and was the son of the late William and Elizabeth Joost.
Personal: He was the husband of Gail Joost for 31 years.
A Green Beret US Army Veteran, David recently retired after 30 years with the State of New Jersey Veterans Affairs Division as a Veterans Affairs Officer.
He owned and operated a cleaning service, Gem Janitorial, with his wife.
David enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family.
Survivors: David is survived by his wife, Gail Joost of Asbury, NJ; a son and daughter-in-law, Kurt William, Jr. and Laurie Wille of Flemington, NJ; a daughter and son-in-law, Keri and Kyle Hissim of Coto de Caza, CA; a daughter and son-in-law, Danielle and Bruce Stymacks of Hackettstown, NJ; a daughter, Jennilee Joost of Mountain Lake, NJ; three granddaughters, Justice Denman, Morgan and Macy Hissim, two step-granddaughters, Larissa Fleck and Kaila Cheslock; and one step-great-grandson, Tristan Fleck.
Services: Visitation will be held on Monday, November 14, 2011 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave, Washington, NJ. Burial will follow on Tuesday, November 15th at Brigadier General William C Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ at 1 p.m.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, 99 Sparta Drive, Newton, NJ 07860, as they were a vital part of our husband, father, and grandfather’s passing, comfort, and support.
