Edith “Eydie” Hodge, 80, of Port Murray, died Wednesday, October 26, 2011 . She passed away peacefully at Easton Hospital, with her husband, William, by her side.
Born: She was born to the late John and Ada Freeman on July 26, 19 31, in Tacoya, GA.
Personal: She married William Hodge in 1953, and they lived together in Port Murray, NJ, for 50 years.
Eydie was a homemaker, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also an Aid for the ARC of Warren County.
She was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing Canasta. She loved animals, especially her own dogs and cats.
Memberships: Eydie was a member of Philipsburg Alliance Church.
Survivors: Eydie is survived by William, her loving husband of 58 years; by her beloved daughter and spouse, Debi and William Quinn, of Asbury, NJ; three grandsons, Shawn and wife Renee, Ryan and wife Sara, and Brandon; and three great-grandchildren, Kayleigh, Lukas, and Caleb.
Eydie was preceded in death by her brothers, Homer and John Freeman; and her sister, Bootsie Freeman.
Services: A memorial service will be held at Philipsburg Alliance Church, 255 Lincoln St, Phillipsburg, NJ on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 12 p.m.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234. W. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882.
