Nicholas "Nick" C. Fornarotto Sr., 89, of Washington, NJ, passed away on August 26, 2011 .
Born: April 2, 1922, in Belleville, NJ.
Personal: Nick has resided in Washington since 1948.
Nick was a Master Tool & Die Maker, turn School Teacher. During his career Nick worked for Picateny Arsenal, Job Core, Ingersoll Rand, Bergen Tool, North Hunterdon High School and Warren County Vo-Tech.
Nick graduated from Trenton State & Rutgers University with a degree in Industrial Arts. Nick served proudly in the US Army during World War II.
Nick liked Hunting & Fishing. He holds several records for the largest Northern Pike and the Largest Arctic Char. Nick also built old wooden sailing ship models and made wooden carved decoy ducks. Nick was awarded a commendation on May 15, 1970 by NJ State Police for unselfish action in helping a trooper in which he was seriously injured. A graduation was held in his honor.
Memberships: Nick was a devout Catholic. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Washington where he served as an usher and was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree.
Survivors: sons, Nick who lives in Virginia, Ron who lives in North Carolina; and a daughter, Carol Ann who lives in Las Vegas; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services: A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday September 3, 2011 , at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 Carlton Ave. Washington NJ 07882. Interment will follow in the Parish cemetery.
