John W. Jones Sr., 63, of Hope, NJ, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at his home.
Born: On August 3, 1944, in New Brunswick, NJ, he was a son of Charles Jones of Monmouth, NJ, and the late Anna Wainczak.
Personal: His wife of 44 years, Frances, died January 28, 2007. John was a senior delivery driver for Bartons West End Farms Inc., Oxford, NJ, for 20 years. He graduated from Washington High School, Class of 1962. He had previously resided in White Township, Washington, and Oxford, NJ. He loved NASCAR and enjoyed Chevy muscle cars. Memberships: He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Augustus Rampone Assembly 2450.
Survivors: In addition to his father, Charles, he is survived by a son, John Jr. of Blairstown; a daughter, Cheryl Barton and her husband John of Mansfield Township, NJ; two sisters, Patricia Pace of Maine, and Kathy Eick of Marshalls Creek, Pa; five brothers, Donald of Martins Creek, Richard of Buttzville, NJ, Robert and Michael, both of Maine and Howard of Frenchtown, NJ, and seven grandchildren, John M., Christine, Collen, Shannon, Jamie, John W. and Andrew.
Services: Visitation will be Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with Father Pawel Dolinski officiating, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 360 Route 46, Great Meadows, NJ. Burial will be in Buttzville Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home, Washington, NJ.
