William Read

William S. Read Sr., 84, a lifelong resident of Beattystown, NJ, died Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at Warren Haven Nursing Home. Born: On January 28, 9122 in Newton, NJ, he was a son of the late John and Laura Read. Personal: His loving wife, Helen, died earlier. He was a lifelong farmer at the Read Family Farm in Beattystown, NJ, retiring in 1972. Memberships: He was a founding and charter member of the Tri County Fire Department where he served as past chief. Bill was also a past member of the Hackettstown Elks. Survivors: He is survived by two sons, William Jr. and his wife Bonnie of Port Murray, and Edward of Maine; a brother, John of Hackettstown, NJ; and eight grandchildren. Services: Graveside services will be held Friday (today) at 10:15 a.m. in the Union Cemetery in Hackettstown, NJ. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills/Ford Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ 07882.
