William (Bill) Robert Hart, Jr., born August 30, 1939, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025 in White Twp., NJ after a long illness.
Bill earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering at Newark College of Engineering (NJIT) and went on to spend most of his career working as a packaging engineer for Bristol Myers-Squibb, earning several patents before retiring in 1998.
Bill divided his time between his two residences in Belvidere, NJ and Bradenton, Florida, each holding a special place in his heart. Prior to moving to Florida, he enjoyed peaceful days at the family's shore house in Ocean Beach, always pausing for a Midway sausage on the Seaside Heights boardwalk, a small tradition that brought him great joy. Before illness touched his life, he found joy in bowling, golfing, and travel. His later days were filled with enjoyable visits, barbecues and playing games with family and friends. Bill will be remembered for his sharp wit, entertaining sense of humor, generosity, and kind heart, but most of all for the love, guidance, and laughter he shared as a husband, father and grandfather. True to his sense of humor, he was known for saying, 'You can't fix stupid', a line that continues to echo in the laughter of family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Helen, his son David William Hart and his wife, Francine; his daughter Kim Marie Hart and her husband, Steve Nagle and one beloved grandchild, Kyle David Hart along with many other relatives. Bill was predeceased by his parents, William Robert, Sr. and Elizabeth Hart and his brother, Richard Steven Hart.
The family takes comfort in knowing that his spirit is free and after a private ceremony, they will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
