Warren Thomas Kearns

Warren T. Kearns, 91, of Mansfield, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on May 4, 2025, with loved ones by his side.


Born on September 5, 1933, in Winchester, Massachusetts, Warren was the son of the late Charles and Edna Kearns. He graduated from Wakefield High School in 1951 and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Coast Guard during the Korean War.


Following his service, Warren graduated from Boston Industrial Technical School in 1955 and the Watertown Arsenal Apprentice School in 1959. He worked as a journeyman machinist and later transferred to Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, NJ, in 1966, where he served as a quality assurance specialist until his retirement in 1993.


Warren was active in his community and generously gave his time to several organizations. He volunteered with the Hackettstown Meals at Home program and the food pantry at the First Presbyterian Church of Washington, NJ. A devoted member of the church, Warren served as an elder, deacon, and participated on various committees.


A passionate history enthusiast, Warren especially loved learning about the Civil War. He and his family visited many battlefields together. He never missed a single one of his grandsons' sporting events—his family, especially his grandchildren, meant the world to him.


Warren was a proud 55-plus-year member of the Golden Rule Lodge A.F. and A.M. in Wakefield, MA, and a member of the American Legion Post 164 in Hackettstown, NJ.


He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years Phyllis; daughter, Karen Ferrari, and her husband, Ronald, of Wind Gap, PA; grandsons, Christopher Ferrari and his wife, Kaylee, and their daughter Naomi and Matthew Ferrari and his wife Molly and their son Warren.


In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his son, David Kearns who passed in 2023.


Warren will be remembered for his kind heart, quiet strength, and unwavering dedication to his family and community.


In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in Warren's name to the First Presbyterian Church of Washington.


Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Washington. A service celebrating his life will take place in the church at 11:00 AM. Inurnment with military honors at Montana Mountain Cemetery will immediately follow.
