Walter Lewek

Walter L. Lewek, 72 of Washington Township formally of NY, NY passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on February 14, 2015. Walter was born on April 3, 1942 in NY, NY to the late Ludwig and Elsie Lewek Walter graduated from the High School of Commerce in Manhattan, NY. He attended Voorhees Technical Institute also in Manhattan. Walter married his soulmate Janet "Velez" in 1970. He worked as a Systems technician for Lucent Technologies in NY for 35 years before retiring in 2001. He was a member of the New Apostolic Church where he served as a Deacon. Walter enjoyed singing, studying history and taking cruises around the world. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Janet; daughters Janet Grdovic, Tammy Buhler and her husband Chris. Three grandchildren Andrew, Lilly and Penelope. Walter was preceded in death by his parents and a son in-law Jon Grdovic. Friends and family may pay their respects on Tuesday February 17, 2015 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the New Apostolic Church 819 Edwards Road, Parsippany, NJ 07854. Funeral services will be celebrated immediately following at 8:00 PM.
