Tom or TD as he was known to friends and family passed away on June 20, 2025, he was 87 years young.


He was born the seventh child of eight in Cranford, NJ, September 27, 1937, to Don Newton Langston Sr. and Dixie Hyacinth (Dodgen) Langston.


TD attended North Hunterdon Regional High School and was heralded as the first great backfield star at NHRHS. His accomplishments on the field included making All State Halfback in 1956 for scoring ten touchdowns in an 8-game season. This along with his yards running average also got him inducted into North Hunterdon High School Hall of Fame in the first class of inductees in September of 2002. He graduated NHRHS in 1956 as a 3 Varsity Lettermen, as football was not his only sport he excelled at Baseball & Basketball as well.


After High School, TD enlisted in the United States Marine Corp September 10, 1957. His enlistment was up September 9, 1960. He then went into the Marine Corp Reserves being released on September 9, 1963.


In 1958 TD met and married his bride, the love of his life, Patricia Florence (Neely-McCaffrey) Langston September 8. TD and Patricia had five daughters, and 57 years together.


After the Marine Corps. TD worked for Jersey Central Power & Light 1960 to 1984. He then took up golf, played a senior PGA game, and gave golf lessons well into his retirement.


Thomas Dodgen was pre-deceased by his wife Patricia of 57 years, his father Don and mother Dixie, and his seven siblings, Don, Bill, Bob, Norma, Peggy, Carol & Ken.


He is survived by his 5 Daughters, Mary Lynn Wintermute (Scott) Dixie Lee George, Teresa Ann Reed (Keith) Donna Kay Langston (John), Tommi Jo Knapik (John). 13 Grand Children, 21 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.


The Service for Tom will be graveside Monday June 30, 2025 10:00 AM EST at Evergreen Cemetery Halstead Street Clinton, NJ 08809. There will be a Celebration of his Life immediately following the Interment, at the Clinton Firehouse New Street Clinton, NJ 08809.
