Susan E. Grant, 76, of the Brookfield section of Belvidere, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on July 10, 2026, with her loving family by her side after a short but mighty battle with cancer.

Susan was born on October 22, 1949, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, to the late Thomas and Muriel “Tomlinson” Galligan. She previously resided in Clinton Township, New Jersey, and McCormick, South Carolina, before moving to Brookfield in 2016. Susan graduated from New Bedford High School, Class of 1967, and went on to earn her nursing degree from Faulkner Hospital Nursing School in 1970.

A dedicated and compassionate caregiver, Susan was employed as a nurse for nearly 45 years. She was a past president of the Future Nurses Association while in high school and devoted her career to caring for others. Susan spent the majority of her career caring for children on the pediatric floor at Hunterdon Medical Center.

After the passing of her beloved husband, Harold, in 2016, Susan enjoyed being active in the Brookfield Social Club. Susan started a book club in her neighborhood and enjoyed reading many books in different genres. She found joy in bowling, bocce ball, arts and crafts, and quilting. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends. Susan loved to travel and has been on many trips in and out of the United States. She enjoyed spending time with her beloved cat, Bella.

Susan is survived by her loving children, Kimberly Grant (Lance), Thomas Grant (Michelle), Kelly Leeds (Brett), and Caitlin Em (Rob); her sister, Joyce Spence-Rogers (Jerry); and her six cherished grandchildren, Tyler, Stella, Carter, Ruby, Nolan, and Wyatt. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harold Grant.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. A funeral service celebrating Susan’s life will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Spruce Run Cemetery in Glen Gardner, New Jersey.
