Sophia Dvorsky

Sophia Dvorsky, 93, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2018 at Warren Haven Nursing Home. Sophia was born on October 5, 1924 in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Alexander and Anastasia Vanovsky. She graduated from Thomas Edison high school in Elizabeth, NJ class of 1941. She worked as a secretary for Wilson Freight Co in Elizabeth for more than 40 years until her retirement in 1988. Her loving husband of 57 years Stephen J. Dvorsky passed away in 2005. She was a past parishioner of St. Theodore Catholic church. Sophia enjoyed sewing, knitting, baking and making homemade Porgies. Sophia is survived by her sons, Gregory Dvorsky and his wife Nanci; Barth Dvorsky and his wife Eileen. A daughter, Patricia Adams Philip. 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a son, Stephen. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
