Robert E. Rhoads, 81, of Washington, NJ died peacefully on August 19, 2016 at home with his family by his side. Born on June 9, 1935 in Phoenixville, PA to the late Charles and Virgie Rhoads. Robert graduated from Pottsville High School class of 1953. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. during the Korean War. After his military service he went on to further his education receiving a Bachelor's degree in teaching and his Master's degree in Psychology. He also attended Seminary school. Robert was employed as a Guidance Counselor at Warren Hills Middle School, earlier in his life he also worked as a teacher at Port Colden Elementary School. He served as an Evangelical Pastor. Robert enjoyed golfing and Baseball. His favorite team being the Phillies. He was faithful man and passionate about reading the Bible. He is survived by his devoted wife, Vicki Rhoads, his loving children, daughters, Ronna Rhoads and her husband George Hormann and Karen Parsons and her husband Charles. Sisters, Jean Mauger, Arlene Ermold, Dorothy Landis. He is preceded in death by his 1st wife Jean, a daughter, Sharon K. Rhoads, and his brothers, Donald, Lloyd and Harold. Friends and family may pay their respect on Tuesday August 23, 2016 from 1-3 PM and again from 6-8 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882 Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Roberts name to the Lymphoma Research Foundation 115 Broadway, Suite 1301 New York, NY 10006 Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home.
