Robert A. Pesaniello passed away on November 2, 2026, at Saucon Valley Manor in Hellertown, PA, just four hours after his beloved wife, Dorothy "DJ," passed away at their home. Married in 1969, Bob and DJ shared more than 57 years together. Their passing within hours of one another is a poignant reminder of the extraordinary bond they shared throughout their lives.
Robert was born on August 13, 1943, in Plainfield, NJ, to the late Attilio and Genevieve Pesaniello (nee Kalli). He was a graduate of South Plainfield High School, Class of 1961, and proudly dedicated 24 years of service to the United States Marine Corps. During his military career, Bob served during the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Vietnam War, carrying with him throughout his life the pride, discipline, and patriotism that came with being a Marine.
Following his military service, Bob worked as a supervisor for Novartis Pharmaceuticals for 20 years, retiring in 2002. Never one to sit still for long, he later worked for Snyder Bus Company and also served as a door and parking attendant at Warren Hills Memorial Home.
Bob was a familiar and beloved presence throughout the Washington community, where he gave generously of his time and talents. He served as President of the Washington Rotary Club and was a Past Fire Chief of Butler's Park Fire Department. He was also involved with Habitat for Humanity, the local food pantry, Kiwanis, and Washington Celebrates America. Through Washington Celebrates America, Bob became especially well known as the head of the fireworks committee and as the enthusiastic starter of the Orange Crate Derby. Always dressed in his unmistakable patriotic attire, Bob brought excitement, personality, and a tremendous amount of hometown pride to every event.
Bob and Dorothy shared a deep commitment to their community and were honored together when they were selected as Grand Marshals in 2019, a fitting recognition of their many years of service and dedication to Washington.
Above all, Bob cherished his family and the life he and Dorothy built together. He will be remembered for his devotion to his country, his unwavering patriotism, his willingness to lend a helping hand, and the countless friendships he made along the way.
Bob is survived by his loving daughters, Lori Bach (Chris) and Tricia Vought (Michael), and his four grandchildren, Ryan Vought & his wife Jennifer, Zachary Vought & his wife Bella, Wyatt Bach and Sabrina Bach and three great-grandchildren, Arya, Walker, Aurora who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Diana Anderson
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, November 9, 2026, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Warren Hills Memorial Home, where a joint visitation will be held in honor of Bob and Dorothy.
Both will be laid to rest on November 10, 2026, at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA. It is especially fitting that Bob's final resting place will take place on the birthday of the United States Marine Corps, a date that held such special meaning throughout his life.
Burial will be private.
