Richard R. Crawford, 68, of Washington, NJ, passed away suddenly on December 27, 2025.
Richard was born on May 12, 1957, in Denver, CO, to the late Albert and Carolyn “Kulman” Crawford. He grew up in Fort Smith, AK, Oklahoma City, OK, Aurora, CO, Houston, TX, graduating from Westbury High School in 1976. He attended Tulsa Jr. College before moving back to Aurora where he began working at Costin Engineering. Richard then moved to High Bridge, NJ, where he began working as a land surveyor with RW Lee Associates, in Hampton, NJ, and later Robinson Aerial Surveying in Sparta, NJ. He moved to Washington, NJ, then worked for East Penn Engineering in Bangor, PA, and for Finelli Consulting Engineering in Washington, NJ. He obtained his CDL while working for USA trucking before taking his final job driving a bus for Delaware Valley Regional High School where he worked for many years before retiring in 2022.
Richard had many interests and hobbies. He could often be found working on a puzzle with Ruth, watching NASCAR, yelling at the TV, reading, working on his model train layout, or in his workshop. If he couldn't be found he was likely bowling, playing golf, hiking, camping, fishing, or just out taking a drive.
He is survived by his children, Christopher Crawford (Stephanie), Daniel Crawford (Hannah), Amy Crawford (Timothy), and Joshua Crawford (Zerah); his loving life partner of 28 years, Ruth Ann Muse; his brother, Michael Crawford (Brenda); eight grandchildren; and Ruth’s children, Carolyn Muse, Jimmy Muse (Christine).
The family takes comfort in knowing that he has joined his parents and older brother Steve Crawford in Heaven, likely already trying to catch some fish, or in the garden.
