Patricia Ann Kosiak, 81, of Lopatcong, NJ, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025, at Morristown Medical Center.
Patti was born on May 16, 1944 in Newark, NJ to Stephen and Anna Tomasovich. She grew up in Hillside, NJ and graduated with the Hillside High School class of 1962. Patti was employed as a benefits specialist at Wyeth, Pfizer, Bell Labs and Allstate Insurance.
Growing up, Patti enjoyed participating in the fashion club, and one of her fondest memories was winning a powder puff drag race. She had a passion for interior decorating, gardening, and displayed many of her beautiful needlepoint projects in her home. Patti was always willing to participate in any adventure, and one would never know when that phone call would come asking, "Where am I?". She often traveled to Virginia to spend time with her best friend, Eileen. They would often spend hours playing scrabble, going to play Bingo, or antiquing.
A lover of all animals, Patti often adopted pets in need, always acquiring shelter pets, and caring for any stray she could find.
Patti loved her family dearly, and felt extremely fortunate that she was able to spend a considerable amount of time with her parents in their later years, caring for them until their passing.
Patti, after the birth of her beloved grandsons, affectionately became known as Bashi to all who knew and loved her. She could often be found shuttling "the boys" and their friends all over town, to and from school, and to their many practices. She always said the kids were what kept her young. Her face would always light up when she spoke of them. They were truly the joy of her life.
She is survived by two children. Her son John, and his wife Julie, and their two sons, Andrew and Alex. Her daughter, Joann and her three sons, Stephen, John and Patrick. Also surviving are her sister, Joan; two nephews, and numerous beloved cousins and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Patricia's memory to EvolvePink.org or to Common Sense For Animals, PO Box 589, Broadway, NJ, 08808, commonsenseforanimals.org
