Listen to Obituary

Nancy A. O'Donnell, of Belvidere, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026, at Morristown Medical Center.

Born on November 14, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York, Nancy was the daughter of the late Nels and Alice Larson (née Nygard).

Nancy dedicated many years of her professional life as a tumor registrar, where she took great pride in her work managing oncology records. She served at Riverside Hospital in Boonton, St. Clare’s Hospital in Dover, and ultimately Morristown Memorial Hospital, where she remained until her retirement in 2015. Her commitment to her field and the patients she indirectly served was a source of deep personal fulfillment.

Beyond her career, Nancy was a compassionate and generous person. She volunteered with the American Cancer Society and was actively involved in animal rescue efforts. She had a special fondness for wildlife, often caring for and bottle-feeding orphaned squirrels. Nancy had a deep love for nature and embraced life with enthusiasm and curiosity.

She was an avid traveler who enjoyed cruises and remarkable adventures, including hiking Machu Picchu and traveling to destinations such as Alaska, Russia, and Turkey. Her adventurous spirit and appreciation for the world around her were an inspiration to those who knew her.

Nancy is survived by her loving children, Tim O’Donnell and Christopher O’Donnell and his wife, Stephanie; her cherished grandchildren, Kaitlin Pham and her husband, Hoat, and Devin O’Donnell; and her adored great-grandchildren, Emmett and Kyra. She is also survived by her nephews, Bob and Marc Eynard.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her sister, Kaye.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
