Myra L. Read

Myra L. Read, 75 of Washington, NJ passed away on March 20, 2024 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Hecktown Oaks.

Myra was born on June 14, 1948 in Phillipsburg, NJ to the late Anthony and Ella Briglia.

She was a graduate of Phillipsburg high school class of 1966. Myra was very active in the Washington United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking and also having movie nights with her grandchildren. She learned how to play the ukulele and would play for everyone on their birthday when she would call. Myra was gifted at sewing and was the families first call if anyone needed a quick hemming. She made a lasting impression with her family over the years playing Rummy and other card games, that they will cherish forever.

Myra is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, David and their children; David Read Jr., Monica Marinelli and her husband Robert and Jeremy Read and his wife Courtney all of Washington, NJ. She also leaves behind three siblings; Timothy Briglia, Paul Briglia and Terisa Badway, and eight grandchildren; David Read III, Mackenzie Read, Renee Marinelli, Zachary Read, Nicholas Read, Emily Read, Gianna Marinelli and Sara Read.

In addition to her parents, Myra is predeceased by her sisters; DeAnne Hassamer, Deborah LeBar, Toni-Rae Taiana and Sandra Wekoja and her brother Lonny Briglia.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday March 27, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington NJ 07882. A church service celebrating Myra's life will be held on Thursday March 28, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Greenstone United Methodist Church in Washington NJ. Burial will immediately follow at Montana Mountain Cemetery, Harmony NJ.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Greenstone United Methodist Church, Washington, NJ.
