Mel Heller

Mel Heller,91, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2020 at the House of Good Shepherd in Hackettstwon, NJ. Mel was born on September 21, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Harry and Frannie Heller. He grew up in NY but was formerly of Monroe Township and Oxford, NJ. Mel served proudly in the US Navy during WWII. He was employed as a Pharmaceutical Salesmen until his retirement in 1998. His devoted wife Gwen “Shumer” Heller passed away in 1997. Mel enjoyed photography, playing golf and watching western movies. He was a huge John Wayne fan. Mel is survived by his loving daughter, Randy Applebaum; a brother, Joel Heller; Grandchildren, Samantha Applebaum, Amy Mund and Keri Mund. In addition to his wife Mel was preceded in death by a daughter, Stacy Mund and a brother Jerry Heller. Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
