Matthew C. Marr

Matthew C. Marr, 65, of Freemansburg, PA, formerly of Paterson, NJ, passed away peacefully at his home on September 9, 2026.

Born on March 2, 1961, in Huntington, NY, Matthew was the son of the late Chas, and Lenore (nee Siegel) Marr. He was a graduate of Eastside High School, Class of 1979, and trained at CPI, The Computer Programming Institute in Paramus, NJ.

Matthew was a naturally curious person who found joy in learning, exploring, and understanding the world around him. He had a lifelong passion for computers, technology, science and math. He could spend hours tinkering with electronic gadgets, taking things apart, figuring out how they worked.

Matthew also deeply appreciated astronomy and the wonders of the night sky. He was fascinated by the stars and the vastness of the universe, always finding something captivating in looking beyond our world and learning about what was out there. His interests in astronomy, computers, and electronics reflected a mind that was always curious and eager to explore.

He also cherished the time he spent as a summer camp counselor, where he enjoyed sharing experiences with others and being part of the lives of those around him. He was always interested in martial arts, swimming and biking.

Matthew will be remembered for his beautiful smile, his kind heart and loving nature. The memories he created with his family and friends will remain with those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his sisters, Karen Cecelia Marr and Suzanne Marr, and his niece, Grace. He was predeceased by his brother David J. Marr.

A memorial service celebrating Matthew's life will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at the Jewish Center of Northwest Jersey, 115 Youmans Avenue in Washington, NJ at 4:30pm. Food and fellowship to follow. Feel free to bring a kosher dish to share. Or, in lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in memory of Matthew to support the Lehigh Valley Amputee Support Group Fund at Lehigh Valley Health Network.
