Joyce L. Shauger

Joyce L. Shaugner, 79, of Harmony Township, NJ, passed away on March 11, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose warmth and kindness will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Born on May 3, 1945, in Phillipsburg, NJ, Joyce was the daughter of the late George and Marjorie Bryan (née Tomson). Joyce worked as a dedicated teacher for over 30 years at Warren Hills High School, retiring in 2000. She had a passion for education and touched the lives of many students during her long career.

An active member of the Stewartsville Presbyterian Church in Stewartsville, NJ, Joyce loved her community and served as the choir director, sharing her love for music with all who attended. She was also an avid traveler, enjoying journeys near and far, as long as they were by car. Joyce's love of life, her generous spirit, and her devotion to her family and faith will leave a lasting impact on all who were blessed to be in her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Roloson and her husband, David; her stepsons, Joe and his wife, Missy, and Bruce and his wife, Elsa; grandchildren, Kody, Kirstyn, Daniel, TC, Christi, and Emerson; great-grandchildren, Ellie and Ryder; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her dear friend Pastor Pamela Szurek. Joyce was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles Shaugner, and her siblings.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, March 17, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Stewartsville Presbyterian Church, located at 550 North Main Street, Stewartsville, NJ 08886. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the church. Burial will take place at Musconetcong Valley Cemetery in Hampton, NJ.
