Joseph J. Capo Sr.

Joseph J. Capo Sr., 77, of Milford, Delaware, and formerly of Washington, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026.

Joseph was born on June 8, 1949, in Jersey City, New Jersey, to the late James and Phylis (nee Giordano) Capo. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having honorably served his country during the Vietnam War.

Joseph was a graduate of Jersey City State University. He dedicated much of his professional life to AmeriGas Propane, where he worked as an Account Manager for 36 years before retiring in 2023.

Joseph will be remembered by his family and friends for his dedication to those he loved, his strong work ethic, and the many memories he created throughout his life.

Joseph is survived by his longtime companion, Mary Lou Randolph, son, Joseph Capo Jr, daughter, Stacey Miano in Florida, stepdaughter, Elaina Evans in New Jersey, several grandchildren and numerous cousins. He also leaves behind his three ex-wives. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Joe is predeceased by his sister.

Joseph enjoyed riding horses’ western style and taught many children how to ride. He also enjoyed trail riding and an event called team penning, playing poker with friends, going to the casino, going out to eat, and working around his farm with his tractor. He also enjoyed ‘glamping’ and had several different style RVs.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Tunnel to Towers or Wounded Warriers in Joseph's memory.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, September 3, 2026 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and again on Friday, September 4, 2026 from 9:30 to 10:30. A service of remembrance will take place in the funeral home at 10:30 AM. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882.

Burial with military honors will be held at Northern New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Sparta, New Jersey at 12:00 PM.

Joseph's memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
