John Van Teeckelenburgh Sr., 73, of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026.

Born on July 24, 1952, in Rijswijk, Netherlands, John was the son of the late Andre and Cornelia Van Teeckelenburgh (née Noordover). He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

John dedicated many years of service as the Director of Building and Grounds for the Millburn School District, where he worked diligently until his retirement in 2016. He took great pride in his work and in the relationships he built throughout his career.

Above all, John cherished time spent with his family and loved traveling to new places. His true passion, however, was golf — and more golf. Whether on the course with friends or enjoying a quiet round, the game brought him tremendous joy.

He is survived by his loving son, John Van Teecklenburgh Jr., and his companion, Victoria Clark; his daughters, Susan Lacey and her husband, Kyle, and Laura Blum and her husband, Max; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Shannon, Frank, Alanna, Violet and Sebastian and great grandchildren, Aiden, Kaia, and Reagan. He also leaves behind his life partner, pal, and best friend, Julianna Kusz; his brother, Andy; his sister, Maggie; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his sister, Amy.
