John Mara

John P. Mara, 87, of Washington, NJ passed away at home peacefully on June 9, 2017. John was born on August 15, 1929 in North Bergen, NJ to the late Giancinto and Assunta Mara. John served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as an embroider most of his life. He enjoyed playing pool, fishing and stamp collecting. He is survived by his daughters Anita Beam and Laura Mara. Four grandchildren Dana Ionato, Ashley Misner and her husband Kevin, Brittany and Johnathan Gendron and his wife Sata John was preceded in death by his loving wife Emily Mara. They were married on June 6, 1953 Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday July 9, 2017 from 1-2 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. A Memorial service celebrating John’s life will be celebrated immediately following at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
