Joanne Mccurdy

Joanne L. McCurdy, 57, died October 25, 2014, after a long battle with cancer. Born: January 8, 1957, in Worcester, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of Carmela P. McCurdy and the late Archie K. McCurdy. Personal: She lived in Franklin Township, NJ. Previously she lived in Whitehouse Station, NJ, Albany, NY, and Paxton, MA. Joanne was a Program Manager for AT&T where she was employed for 30 years. Previously, she was employed by the Albany Medical Center as a Speech Pathologist. Joanne earned a Project Management Institute Certification and a Project Management Master's Certificate from the Stevens Institute of Technology. She also earned a MS in Speech Pathology from Syracuse University, and a BS in Speech Pathology & Audiology from Bloomsburg State University. She attended Wheaton College in Illinois. She was a passionate supporter of Compassion International, supporting a dozen children at the time of her death. She organized a group to knit sweaters for orphans in overseas orphanages. Survivors: Her daughter, Olivia S. McCurdy; her mother Carmela McCurdy of Washington, NJ; her sister Ruth and husband Joseph Lisa, her niece Brielle Lisa and nephew Galen Lisa of Long Valley, NJ; her brother, Roger McCurdy of Troy, MI. Services: A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 15 at 11 a.m., at Valley View Chapel in Long Valley, NJ. Cremation will be private.
