Janet M. Schuyler

Janet M. Schuyler, of Washington, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, at St. Luke’s Warren Hospital. She was 70 years old.

Born on January 27, 1956, in Flemington, New Jersey, Janet was the daughter of the late Floyd and Elizabeth Schuyler (née Hoffman). She was a graduate of West Morris Central High School.

Janet dedicated many years of her life working at the Hunterdon Developmental Center until her retirement in 2023. She was known for her kindness, dedication, and the care she showed to those she served.

She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, especially spending time with her family and completing crossword puzzles, which she loved. She also enjoyed watching Hallmark movies.

Janet is survived by her loving daughter, Dawn Durant and her husband, Jason; her siblings, Mary Ann Schuyler, Richard “Dick” Schuyler and his wife, Betty Lou, Bertha Bevard, Floyd Schuyler Jr. and his wife, Margaret, Alberta Schuyler, and Mary Beam and her husband, Robert. She is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Janet was predeceased by her sister, Mabel, and her brother-in-law, David Bevard.

A graveside interment service will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Fairmount Cemetery, Califon, New Jersey.
