Howard L Lacey

Howard L. Lacey, 88, of Asbury, NJ and previously of Stillwater, NJ passed away on December 4, 2021 at his home with his loving daughter, Betty by his side. Howard was born on March 12, 1933 in Hackettstown, NJ to the late Mary (Snyder) and Howard C. Lacey. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War in the 11th Airborne Division. He was very proud of his time served. He was a proud member of the American Legion in Washington, NJ. He also was proud to serve in the Salvation Army. After his completion of service, Howard then married the love of his life, Mildred (Ellicks). They spent 48 years together until her passing in 2005. His work life included being a truck driver and receiving "The Million Mile Trophy" for his time spent on the road. He also spend many years as a mechanic. He was also an avid collector of trains and eagles. He was a family man and always put them first. He will be missed by all who knew him. Howard is also survived by his daughter; Jean Takacs. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews. Nieces, Kelly L. Williams and Millie Kieran were very special to him, supportive and always there to lend a helping hand. Family friend, Eric Shoemaker was also very special and helpful to him. In addition to his parents and wife, Mildred. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. Funeral services celebrating Howard's life will be held in the funeral home at 12:30 PM. Burial will immediately follow at Musconetcong Cemetery, Hampton, NJ In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Howard's name to The American Legion Post 103, P.O.
