Hazel Macomber

Hazel (Nana) Macomber, age 92, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004 in Warren Hospital. Born: In Knowlton Twp., NJ, on Oct. 24, 1912, she was a daughter of the late Emma Mae and James N. LaRue. Personal: Hazel worked as a Washington Borough Court Clerk until she was 70, retiring in 1981. Prior to that, she worked for James LaRue & Son Feed & Seed Inc. She graduated with the last class of the old Washington High School on Taylor Street, and attended Churchman's Business School. She was a lifelong resident of Washington, NJ. Hazel was devoted to her family, whom she loved and cared for very much. She will be sadly missed and always loved. Memberships: She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Washington and the United Methodist Women of the Church, and The Blue Mountain Antique Gas & Steam Engine Assoc. Survivors: A son James K. & his wife Shirley of Harmony, NJ; six grandchildren, Kenneth J. Macomber, FL, Glenn Macomber and his wife Linda of White Twp., Linda Cooke and her husband Todd of Hope, NJ; Donna Stine and her husband Craig of White Twp.; Mark Macomber of Delaware; Jeffrey Macomber and his wife Jackie of Portland, PA; seven great-grandchildren, Todd, Tyler, Amanda, Glenn, Brandon, Taylor and Kelsey. Her husband Kenneth died in 1950. She was also predeceased by a brother, Cecil. Services: 11:00 a.m. Thursday at The Warren Hills/Ford Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ with Rev. Douglas Spencer officiating. Burial will be in Belvidere Cemetery.
