Grace Hess

Grace E. Hess, 96, of Washington, NJ and previously of Stewartsville, NJ passed away on November 18, 2019 at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem, PA with loved ones by her side. Grace was born on May 6, 1923 at home on the family farm, to the late Robert and Margaret Berger. Grace attended Phillipsburg High School and would later go on to manage the Frankel Army Navy Store in Washington, NJ. She was always active with family and friends, and cherished all the memories she made with them. Grace loved spending time with her cats, which she adored. Grace is survived by her sons; Mitchell Hess and his wife Selma, and James Hess. She is also survived by her granddaughter; Tara Hess and a great grandson; Ethan Hess. She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Grace is predeceased by her son Mitchell's first wife Elaine Hess, and her brothers and sisters on both the Hess and Berger sides of the family. In lieu of flowers the family would like you to go out and enjoy the day with someone special and think of all the cherished moments you spent with Grace. Graveside services and interment at St. James Lutheran Cemetery in Phillipsburg, NJ will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday November 21, 2019. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home.
