Glenn M. Newton, 64, of Franklin Township, NJ, passed away suddenly on March 17, 2026, at his home.

Glenn grew up in North Arlington, NJ, and was a proud graduate of North Arlington High School, Class of 1980. In his youth, he played little league baseball and was a third baseman on North Arlington High School’s baseball team. He went on to earn a degree in Business Administration from Montclair State University. Glenn was the owner and operator of Leisure Sporting Goods in Iselin, NJ, for many years before retiring in 2021. Through his business, he provided uniforms and equipment to numerous school districts and youth sports teams, leaving a lasting impact on his community. In Glenn’s early years, he enjoyed bowling in a father- son league with his father Herb. He also was a member of first- presbyterian Church of North Arlington.

Glenn was a lover of all sports, had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed snowmobiling and four-wheeling at his home in Vermont. He took great pride in his woodworking hobby, where he handcrafted several items, including a rocking horse. His deep love of horseback riding was passed down from his father, where he would often ride his beloved horse named Ben in Vermont. He also loved hiking, and was a die- hard fan of the New York Jets as a life long season ticket holder.

He is survived by his loving wife, Debra; his daughter Sarah Newton; step-children Sean Barrett, and Kristen Barrett; and his siblings, Carol Robb and Doug Newton. Glenn was predeceased by his son, Seth Newton, and his brother, Herbie Newton.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday, April 18th 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ 07882. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA).
