George R Deering

George R. Deering, 85, of Washington, NJ passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026 in Hamilton, NJ with his loving wife by his side.

George was born on August 1, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY to the late George T and Elizabeth Deering.

George proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was employed in the elevator business. Owning his own company. In 2005 he married Dolores (nee; Cameron). They resided in Lackwaxen, Pennsylvania prior to moving to Washington, NJ. George was a parishioner of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Washington. He was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus in Lords Valley, PA and a 4th Degree member of the Cardinal Mercer Assembly in Long Island, NY. He enjoyed fishing and traveling. He will be greatly missed.

Survived by his devoted wife Dolores Deering; children Diane Rowen and her husband Jim, Timothey Deering and his wife Barbara, Michael Deering, Kelliann Gearon and her husband John, step-children Brian Prehle and his wife Dori and Tricia Prehle and her husband Rene Gonzalez. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife; Carol.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday August 9, 2026 from 2-6 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Monday August 10, 2026 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 200 Carlton Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. Burial will take place in St. Charles Resurrection Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY
