Gary Lee Rush, 62, of Washington, New Jersey, passed away on February 22, 2026, at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington.
Born on December 22, 1963, in Phillipsburg, Gary was the son of the late Ace Rush and Ruthann Rush (née Herman). He was a graduate of Warren County Technical School and went on to work as a carpenter, where he was known as a true craftsman who took pride in his work. Gary will be remembered as a free spirit who lived life in his own way and left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Gary is survived by his brother, Jason Rush and his wife Christine; his nephews, Zachary Rush and Alexander Rush; his cousins, Jeffrey Bolmer (Robin), Kirstein McBride, Stacey Modica (Keith), Timothy Herman, and Brittany Herman; his uncle, Barry Herman and his significant other, Janet; and his companion, Cynthia Pavick.
In addition to his parents, Gary is predeceased by Sandra Bolmer, James Bolmer Sr., James Bolmer Jr., Barbara A. Bolmer and Patricia Herman.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Avenue, Washington. A service celebrating Gary’s life will begin at 7:30 PM at the funeral home. Cremation will follow privately.
