Eugene F. McDonald, 62, formerly of Hampton, NJ passed away peacefully on January 11, 2017. Eugene was born on October 30, 1954 in Brooklyn, NY to Eugene McDonald and the late Lottie (Gembka) McDonald. Gene graduated from Clarkstown high school in New York. He earned his architectural degree at NJIT College. Gene worked as a Licensed Architect for the College of New Jersey and Rutgers University. He was a parishioner of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Hampton. Gene enjoyed collecting and displaying his collection of Lionel trains. He was a music enthusiast, played the guitar, and like many musicians had a garage band when he was younger. Later in life he continued playing in bands at local venues and events. Gene looked forward to, and cherished, the summer vacations in Wildwood, NJ with daughters. He is survived by his father Eugene; Daughters Amanda and Audrey; a sister Patricia Latacz; and a brother John McDonald. Gene was predeceased by his mother and a daughter Emily. Friends and family may pay their respects on Monday January 16, 2017 from 2-6 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington. Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday January 17, 2017 at 12:00 PM at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, 6 Church St. Hampton, NJ 08827. Burial will follow at St. Gertrude's Roman Catholic Cemetery in Colonia, NJ. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home.
