Elsie Bruinooge

Elsie “June” S. Bruinooge, 95, passed away on January 4, 2016 at her home. Born to Albert and Elsie “Yates” Steadman in Penns Grove, NJ on June 8, 1920. She resided in Bridgewater, NJ for 54 years. June was a volunteer in Somerset Hospital and was active with the Boy Scouts Pack 154 serving as a Den Mother during her children’s school years. June was employed at the Somerset County Board of Social Services for 26 years. Upon retirement, she volunteered with the Somerville Literary Program and Hunterdon Hospice. She was predeceased by her husband John, a son Jerry and a brother Roger. She is survived by her sons Jon and his wife Xuyen, Joel and his wife Patricia, and Jeffrey Bruinooge. Grandchildren Amy, Julie, Jo Ellen, Chad, Michael, Matthew, Katlyn and Valerie. A daughter in-law Sara Bruinooge. June's life will be celebrated privately. Donations may be made to the Scleroderma Foundation OR the Lupus Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of Warren Hills Memorial Home.
