Elizabeth Ann Butler, 79, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Muhlenberg Campus. She was born on August 11, 1947, to the late Harold and Doris Sillick and was a graduate of Somerville High School.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Donald Butler, who passed away in April of this year. Their six decades together were filled with love, family, and countless cherished memories.
Elizabeth worked as an accountant for American Can Company for many years before retiring in 1991. While she was proud of her career, her greatest joy in life was her family.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who took tremendous pride in the accomplishments of those she loved. Elizabeth was her grandchildren’s biggest cheerleader, rarely missing a school event, sporting event, or special occasion. She loved watching them grow and was always there to encourage them, support them, and celebrate their achievements.
Elizabeth had a wonderful creative and caring spirit. She enjoyed cooking and baking, making crafts, and collecting Longaberger baskets. She also loved giving her time to her children and their activities. She coached softball and served as a Girl Scout leader for her daughters, creating many special memories that her family will treasure for years to come.
Elizabeth is survived by her two daughters, Brenda Reeser and her husband, David, and Donna Haas and her husband, John; her grandchildren, Peter Richner, Jacob Richner, and Sarah Richner; and her nine great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family, who will forever cherish the love, encouragement, and memories she gave them throughout her life.
