Dorothy "DJ" Pesaniello passed away peacefully at her home in Hellertown, PA, on November 2, 2026. Just four hours later, her beloved husband of 57 years, Robert, passed away at Saucon Valley Manor, also in Hellertown. Their passing so close together marks the end of an extraordinary love story, a lifetime of partnership, devotion, and shared commitment to their family and community.
DJ was born on April 1, 1947, in Jersey City, NJ, to the late Evert and Dorothy Anderson (nee Baker). She was a graduate of Plainfield High School, Class of 1965, and continued her education at finishing school. In 1969, she married Robert Pesaniello, beginning a beautiful life together that would span more than five decades.
DJ enjoyed a successful career in banking, serving as a bank manager for First National Bank, later known as Wachovia, and ultimately Wells Fargo until her retirement in 2012. Throughout her professional life, she was known for her dedication, leadership, and ability to connect with people.
Her contributions to the Washington community, however, extended far beyond her professional career. DJ was a woman who believed deeply in giving back and making a difference in the lives of others. She was a member of the Junior Woman's Club of Washington and later the Washington Woman's Club. She actively participated in United Way. She also served on the New Jersey Supreme Court Ethics Committee.
DJ generously devoted her time to numerous organizations, including Rotary, the Arc of Warren County, Habitat for Humanity, and Washington Celebrates America. Alongside Bob, she was a familiar and dedicated presence in the community, and together they were honored when selected as Grand Marshals in 2019, recognizing their many years of service and commitment to the town they loved.
Her faith was another important part of her life. DJ was extremely active at the First Presbyterian Church of Washington, where she served as an elder and shared her beautiful voice as a member of the choir. Her church family and fellow volunteers were an important part of her life, and she gave of herself wholeheartedly to the many causes and people she held dear.
DJ will be remembered as a woman of compassion, dedication, and tremendous community spirit. Whether through her work, her church, or her volunteer efforts, she made a lasting impression on those around her. Her partnership with Bob was at the heart of so much of what she did, and together they created a legacy of service, friendship, and love that will continue to be felt throughout the Washington community.
DJ is survived by her loving daughters, Lori Bach (Chris) and Tricia Vought (Michael), and her four grandchildren, Ryan Vought & his wife Jennifer, Zachary Vought & his wife Bella, Wyatt Bach and Sabrina Bach and three great-grandchildren, Arya, Walker, Aurora who will forever treasure the memories they shared with her. She also leaves behind her sister, Diana Anderson.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, November 9, 2026, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Warren Hills Memorial Home, where a joint visitation will be held in honor of DJ and Bob.
Both will be laid to rest on November 10, 2026, at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA, alongside one another as they shared so much of life's journey together.
Burial will be private.
