Listen to Obituary

Donald H. Borer, of Washington, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on June 20, 2026. He was 68 years old.

Born on February 17, 1958, in Englewood, New Jersey, Donald was the son of the late Harold and Barbara Borer (née Baudendistel).

Donald dedicated many years of service to the State of New Jersey, working as a welder for the New Jersey Department of Transportation until his retirement in 2019. A skilled craftsman, welding was not only his profession but also one of his greatest passions. He spent countless hours in his garage building, repairing, and creating projects of all kinds. Known for his ability to fix just about anything, Donald took great pride in helping friends, family, and neighbors whenever something needed repair. His willingness to lend a hand and his love of tinkering will be remembered by all who knew him.

In his free time, Donald enjoyed playing baseball, bowling and fishing. Whether casting a line, working on a welding project, or solving a mechanical problem, he found joy in staying active and productive. His quiet generosity, strong work ethic, and dedication to his family left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He had a special fondness for Snoopy, and his grandchildren always knew that any gift from Grandpa would likely feature the beloved character. He took great joy in watching their reactions, often greeting their excitement with a knowing smile and trademark smirk as they opened yet another Snoopy-themed treasure.

Donald is survived by his loving children, Michele Hipp and her husband, Karl, and David Borer and his wife, Roxanne; his cherished grandchildren, Annelise, Anderson, and Elliott; his beloved nieces and nephews; his sister, Susan Lee; and his brother, Robert Borer and his wife, Cheryl.

In addition to his parents, Donald was predeceased by his brother, Tom Borer.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Warren Hills Memorial Home. All services will be private at this time.
