Cornelius (Neil) Brons, 62, of Easton, PA, formerly of Washington, NJ passed away peacefully on June 19, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem, PA. Neil was born on January 24, 1955 in Staten Island, NY to Anita Orvokki Ylijoki Neil was a graduate of Rutgers University, NJIT and Farleigh Dickinson University earning his Master's Degree in Environmental Science. He was employed by Exxon Mobile, as a Research Chemist, until his retirement in 2012. He enjoyed his retirement years as a college professor for Kean University and Middlesex County Community College. He actively engaged in his love of science mentoring his students and introducing science to the future explorers of it. Neil was a member of the American Chemical Society, which contributed to his achievements of 33 US Patents, resulting in proud moments in the lives of his family. He was a coach for many years for recreational sports such as soccer and softball for all of his daughters. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Green Bay Packers. Neil enjoyed tennis and watching the US Open. He loved to travel and going to the beach on family vacations. His favorite vacation spot was Myrtle Beach, and consequently all of his girls fell in love with North and South Carolina. He was a fan of music, amusement parks and the outdoors. His favorite holiday was Christmas and he loved decorating for it every year. This past holiday season he won an award for his outstanding decorations. He is survived by three loving daughters, Dianne Brons, Kimberly Maher (and her husband Andrew) and Lauren Brons. He also leaves behind one treasured grandson, John Patrick Maher, whom he spoiled immensely as often as he could. Other survivors include his siblings; a sister Diana Bruno and a brother, Glen Brons. Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday June 23, 2017 from 4-7 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Avenue, Washington NJ, 07882.
