Catherine A. Scala

Catherine A. Scala, 74, of Mansfield Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, at Kindred Hospital in Dover, NJ.

Catherine was born on January 14, 1952, in the Bronx, NY, to the late Edward and Elizabeth “Moxley” Tennant. She grew up in the Bronx and later lived on Long Island before settling in Mansfield Township, NJ. Catherine was predeceased by her loving husband, John J. Scala Jr., in 2017.

She enjoyed photography, gardening, decorating, and was a talented cook who took great joy in preparing meals for her family.

Catherine is survived by her sons, John J. Scala III (Jeanette) and Jeff Scala (Corinne); her siblings, Richard Tennant and Alice Mills; and her six cherished grandchildren, Sarah, Logan, Naomi, Evangeline, CJ and Madison. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Edward Tennant.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. A funeral service celebrating Catherine’s life will begin at 7:30 PM at the funeral home.  Interment will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 9:30 AM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
