Catherine Phifield

Catherine G. Phifield, 80, of Washington, NJ passed awy peacefully on October 19, 2019 at her daughters home in Wind Gap, PA. Catherine was born in Norfolk, CT on July 8, 1939 to the late Frank and Elizabeth Green. Catherine was employed as a chef and food server for the Blue Army Shrine, Lawrenceville school camp and later retired from the Washington Township school district earlier this year. Her beloved husband Irving Phifield passed away in 2000. Catherine was a devout catholic and a parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic church in Washington where she loved to volunteer her time, she can best be describe as a person who was devoted to helping others. She enjoyed cooking, knitting and loved her dogs Daisy and Shadow. Catherine is survived by her caring daughters, Etta Teune and Ruby Williams; A sister, Jane Greenlee; A brother, George Green and his wife Corrine; 11 grandchildren Kelly, Vincent, Corry, Alexis, Destiny, Michael, Zachary, Anthony, Benjamin, Nathan and Christopher and 2 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Catherine was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Phifield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday October 28, 2019 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Church. 200 Carlton Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Catherine's name to her daughter Rudy Williams, C/O the funeral home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home.
