Betty Lou "Appleby" Hamilton, 69, A lifelong resident of Port Murray & Washington, NJ passed away peacefully on May 29, 2017 with her caring family by her side at Companionate Care Hospice in Dover, NJ Betty was born on August 26, 1947 in Phillipsburg, NJ to the late Thomas and Grace Appleby. Betty graduated from Hackettstown high school class of 1965. She worked as head teller for Midlantic Bank in Washington. Later in her life she also worked for Bill Breslin Insurance Co. in Washington. Betty was a past member and treasurer for the Mansfield Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She loved reading, crossword puzzles and cooking. Betty cherished time spent with her family, especially her granddaughters. She can be best described as a 'Good Soul". She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Betty is survived by her loving husband of 18 years Wally Hamilton. Her daughter Valerie Stecker and her companion Brad Fulmer. Her son Ronald Stecker; Stepdaughters Brandi Hamilton Newbury and her husband Scott and Traci Hamilton McGowan and her husband Scott. A sister Alice Mayberry and her husband Donald. Brothers Harry and Dick Appleby. Granddaughters Victoria and Faith Winters Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday June 2, 2017 from 10:00 AM � 2:00 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home. 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington NJ 07882. Graveside services and interment will follow at 3:00PM at Port Murray Cemetery. 24 Cherry Tree Bend Rd. Port Murray, NJ 07865. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bettys name to Compassionate Care Hospice, 400 West Blackwell St, Dover, NJ 07801.
