Anna M Rooney

Anna M. Rooney, 59, passed away peacefully at her home on May 27, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.

Anna was born in Philadelphia, PA on May 12, 1963 to the late Juan and Luz Cruz Rodriguez. She graduated from East Side High School in Newark, NJ class of 1981. Anna and her husband William R. Rooney Sr. were married in 1987. They started their family in Union, NJ before moving and settling down in Washington, NJ. Anna was employed as a confidential secretary for the Elizabeth Public Schools for more than 19 years. She was a member of the Abundant Life Community Church in Port Murray, NJ where she served as a Deaconess. Anna had a flare for interior decoration and really appreciated fine antiques. She enjoyed gardening, camping, hiking and being outdoors. She also enjoyed health and fitness, proudly completing Spartan Race Trifecta shortly after overcoming breast cancer.

In addition to her husband of 35 years, Anna is survived by her son, William R. Rooney Jr.; 2 daughters: Chelsea Torres and her husband Rawy and Bianca Rooney; 3 sisters: Martha Mel, Milagros Fonseca and Elizabeth Roman; 3 brothers: Juan Rodriguez Jr., Reinaldo Rodriguez and Manuel Rodriguez and her cherished grandson Micah Stradford.
