Aida Castillo

Aida Castillo, 83, of Hampton, NJ passed away peacefully on April 4, 2017 at St. Barnabas Hospital in Livingston, NJ with her family by her side. Aida was born in Villa Clara, Cuba on August 14, 1933 to the late Jacinto Salgado and Ana Hernandez. Born and raised in Cuba, Aida came to the United States in 1966. She resided in Hampton for the past 11 years. Prior to that she resided in Union City, NJ. She was a talented makeup artist in her younger years. Prior to her retirement in 2006 she was employed as an interpreter for the Jersey City Supreme Court. Aida was of the Catholic faith and a parishioner of St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church in Hampton. She is survived by her loving son Rudy Castillo and his wife Clansy, 2 treasured grandchildren, Lucca and Gabriella. Her caring sister Elba Rodriguez and her husband Nano. 3 nieces, Aida Birritteri, Ana Vichnevetsky and Laura Muniz. A nephew Ariel Lender all of whom she adored. Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, April 10, 2017 from 9-10:45 AM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882 A Mass of Christian burial will be held following visitation at 11:00 AM in St. Anne's Catholic Church, 6 Church Street, Hampton, NJ 08827. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Aida's name to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Two Princess Road, Suite D, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home.
