Obituary of Rena J Mangiacotti

Rena J. Mangiacotti, 93, a lifelong resident of Washington, NJ passed away peacefully on August 20, 2014 at Forest Manor Health Care Center in Hope, NJ. Born: on July 15, 1921 in New Village, NJ to the late Clito and Benilda (Giacchi) Ghetti Personal: Rena was married for 47 years to Frank Mangiacotti Sr until his passing in 1988. Rena worked as a seamstress at the Washington Hosiery Mill for over 30 years. She was an active member of Saint Joseph's Roman Catholic Church and enjoyed baking for bingo. Rena was a life member of the VFW Pohatcong Memorial Post 6701 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member and past treasurer for the Deborah Heart and Lung, Warren County chapter. Rena enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, gardening & walking. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching Warren Hills High School and Seton Hall University sporting events. Later in life she enjoyed the comfort of her dog, Sox. She cherished time spent with her family & friends especially her grandchildren. The Mangiacotti's door was always opened & those entering were welcomed with open arms. Survivors: her devoted children, a son Frank Mangiacotti Jr and a daughter Rosemarie M. Hoover and her husband, Lester; her beloved grandchildren Matthew Hoover and his wife Kristen and Marcella Hoover; Her precious great granddaughter Kadence Ree Ann Hoover and a sister, Annie Lance. Rena was preceded in death by her husband Frank Sr, four brothers: Bruno, Dalio, Clifford & Nelson Ghetti ; four sisters: Enes Bolmer, Bruna Bowers, Rita Kinnaman, and Zita Beam. Services: Friends and family may call on Monday August 25, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-9 PM at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday August 26, 2014 at 9:30 AM from St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 Carlton Ave, Washington, NJ 07882. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph parish cemetery. Memorials: Donations may be made in Rena's name to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater New Jersey Chapter, 400 Morris Ave Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834-1365.
