Robert Bob E. Widdoss, 82, of Franklin Township, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 1, 2011 in Easton Hospital.
Born: September 16, 1928 in Philadelphia, he was the only son of Robert M. and Kathryn LeVan Widdoss.
Personal: Bob graduated from Belleville High School in 1947 and went on to enlist in the Navy. While in Norfolk, Virginia he studied at the US Naval School of Motion Picture Operators. After receiving his certificate of completion in 1948 he shipped off to San Juan, Puerto Rico where he served until 1950. Bob was a member, as well as an officer of Local 365 of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Union for over 50 years. He was also a member of Local 632 IATAE. He worked as light and sound man for many years for Lambertville Music Circus where he had the privilege of setting stages for people such as Liberace, Red Buttons, Dottie West and Bob Hope to name a few. He also was part of movie sets such as Annie and The Dain Curse. Robert finished his career as projectionist at Washington Twin Cinema until retirement. The family would like to express thanks to DeVita Dialysis Center, Palmer Township, PA as well as Dr. Little and the staff of Premier Heart Specialists for the phenomenal time and years of care given to Robert. The family feels it appropriate to include a small memorial for Randy Scott who passed away on 12/25/09 and lay the beloved to rest together. Memberships: He was a member of The Order of FLEAS, Inc. of Easton and was an active member as well as president of the Retired Men bowling league held at the FLEAS. He very much enjoyed his league at Bar-Don Lanes, The Easton Senior Bowling League where he was a member for over 10 years.
Survivors: He was the husband to Irene Pat Stetter Widdoss; father to Robert David Widdoss, Randy Widdoss, Debra Widdoss Gara and Merrilee Widdoss Hill; grandfather to Brian and Jason Widdoss, Jennifer and Jamie Gara, Caressa, Brittany, and Alexa Hill; and great-grandfather to Devyn Gara.
Services: Calling hours will be Tuesday, September 6, 2011 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ 07882, with funeral services also at Warren Hills Memorial Home at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Musconetcong Valley Cemetery, Hampton, NJ.
