Hazel J. Warne, 93, of Washington, NJ, died Thursday, February 5, 2009 in Mansfield Township, NJ.
Born: August 22, 1915 in Harmony, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Hattie Steele.
Personal: She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Warne, in 1995. She retired from retail sales, having worked at Miller's Meat Market in Washington. Hazel enjoyed cooking, baking, needlecrafts, gardening and spending time in the company of birds. She volunteered for several years at the Country Store at Warren Haven. Memberships: She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Washington.
Survivors: Two sons, George Warne and his wife Patricia, and Harold Warne; five grandchildren, Tamara, Darren, Lawrence, Gregory and Lori Warne; and three great-grandchildren, Dawn, Andrew and Kiera. In addition to her husband, a brother Emmanuel Steele and a sister Frances E. Steele, died earlier.
Services: Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Avenue, Washington, where services will be held 11 a.m. Monday. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in Montana Mountain Cemetery, Harmony.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Washington Emergency Squad, 100 Belvidere Avenue, Washington, NJ 07882.
